HON'BLE JUSTICE SALEEM MARSOOF

Former Acting Chief Justice of Sri Lanka

He is a Sri Lankan judge and lawyer. He was an acting Chief Justice of Sri Lanka and former President of the Court of Appeal. He is also a non-resident Justice of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Fiji. He joined the Attorney General's Department as a State Counsel, and was promoted as Senior State Counsel in 1983 and appointed to the post of Deputy Solicitor General  in 1993. In 1998 he was made Additional Solicitor General, and in the same year, in recognition of his eminence in the Bar, he was awarded silk and was appointed a President's Counsel. He functioned as the Senior most Additional Solicitor General in-charge of the Civil Division of that Department.

HON'BLE JUSTICE (RETD.) SOUMITRA PAL

Former Justice of Calcutta High Court

He was enrolled as an Advocate on January 21, 1981. He practiced in the Original Side as well as in the Appellate Side of the High Court at Calcutta mainly in Revenue, Service, Education, Electricity, Land, Civil and other matters. He was elevated as a permanent Judge of the Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta on January, 19, 2004. He retired from Calcutta High Court on August 27, 2016.

He  is an attorney, mediator, arbitrator facilitator and trainer. He has been extensively trained in all aspects of Dispute Resolution. He is a former Board Member of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI]. He was Co-Leader of the Athens Migration Dialogue Project. He was also involved with the Middle East Peace Initiative working with an Israeli Jewish and Palestinian peace village, Neve Shalom Wahat Al Salam (NSWAS) and its Pluralistic Spirituality Center Project. 


 

ARRAN DOWLING HUSSEY

He is a Barrister and Arbitrator working in Dublin & London. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators ('CIArb') 

DEBORAH CIVICO

She is an international law expert and author. She currently works as legal counsel at ProtonMail, a leading IT company based in Geneva, Switzerland. She specializes in a variety of legal topics, from corporate and financial law to international law and human rights. She completed her J.D. degree with honors from the University of Trento, Italy and was previously a delegate to the United Nations Human Rights Committee and other UN Agencies. Her first book, “The Doctrine of Command Responsibility and the Need to Avoid Arbitrary Punishments” was published in January, 2017.

GEETA LUTHRA

Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India

She is a graduate of Lady Sri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi with an outstanding academic career. She was awarded InLaks Scholarship and went to Clare College, Cambridge, U.K. where she completed her Masters in Law in the academic year 1981-82. She then pursued her M.Phil in International Relations and wrote a Thesis on Rann of Kutch boundary disputes between India and Pakistan. She specializes in myriad faces of law including International and Commercial Arbitration, Constitutional Law, Conflict Law/Private International. Ms. Luthra has been a Senior Special Counsel for the Union of India/Central Government in the Supreme Court as well as in the High Court. She has defended the Union of India in many arbitration disputes under the Requisition and Acquisition of Immovable Property Act. She has several leading judgments to her credit, including in the field of Right to Employment of Transgenders in Para Military Forces in India as well as in the Rights of Tribal Women to property in view of Article 15 of the Indian Constitution. She is the Vice President of Governing Body of the Indian Council of Arbitration and is a Trustee at Manushi; she is the Trustee of the Indian Chapter of the Inlaks Foundation as well.

He is a Life Member at National Geographic Society,India, Indian Law Institute and Supreme Court Bar Association, India. He is also the International President at Balkan-JI-Bari International New Delhi. He also serves as Patron-in-Chief at Smartpro Foundation and Vice President at Automobile Association of Upper India. He is an Honorary Legal Adviser at Diocese of Delhi, Church of North India.

He has graduated from National Law School of India University, Bangalore and completed his masters dual-degree in law and business from Bucerius Law School and WHU-Otto Beisheim School of Management, Germany.
